About quepasa!
We are Manuel & Brechtje. Colombian/Dutch couple who met and reside in Japan.
quepasa! is a means of keeping our family and friends informed of our whereabouts, and a way to share our adventures as we set out to live our dreams.
After our wedding in September 2007, we realized that there was no time like the (then) present to take a break from our daily routine for a while and do some traveling. The idea became even more exciting when we decided to combine our globe trotting plans with volunteering. We embarked on a big honeymoon trip through South America and the Caribbean during April-May-June 2008. That’s when quepasa! came online.
Even though our honeymoon trip is over, our life’s adventures are never ending. We will continue to update this blog with the highlights, so you know what’s ‘que pasa’ with us. Enjoy reading!
Meet Elcohones
Elcohones is our mascot. B spotted him in this creative fun little gallery in Shanghai, and was immediately drawn to his ‘genki’ appearance and big eyes.
Whoever created him deserves a credit but we don’t know who it was…
